Can I use this medicine at the same time? Jardiance and Trifas ? Is drug therapy Trifas can be long-term ?

Hello
I wanted to ask about Trifas 10 and Jardiance, can these drugs be taken together? Both were prescribed by a cardiologist. And can Trifas be taken permanently at all? These are the recommendations, somehow I don't agree with it.

The manufacturer of Trifas states that the indication for the use of this medicine is the treatment of oedema and transudates in the course of heart failure in patients who need intravenous therapy (e.g. patients with pulmonary oedema due to acute myocardial insufficiency).

Trifas contains Torasemide, a powerful diuretic that is used for oedema caused by congestive heart failure, pulmonary oedema, hepatic or renal oedema, and in the combination treatment of hypertension.

The duration of treatment with a given drug is determined by the attending physician. If your health situation no longer requires you to use Trifas, or if you can switch to another medicine with a weaker one, your cardiologist will certainly suggest such a change.

Using both medicines at the same time can lead to dehydration and an excessive drop in blood pressure. Symptoms such as increased thirst, dry mouth, lack of appetite, drowsiness, severe weakness, dizziness, fainting may occur. The empagliflozin in Jardiance increases the effects of torasemide, the main ingredient in Trifas.

Torasemide, on the other hand, may cause an increase in blood glucose levels in which case the current dose of empagliflozin will be insufficient.

If the medication is prescribed by the same doctor, the dosage schedule should be followed. Regular monitoring of blood glucose and blood pressure is essential. Tell your doctor about any worrying symptoms.

If you have any doubts about the use of medications, I would advise you to consult them with your cardiologist. He or she prescribes medication based on your test results. Perhaps your medical history has required the introduction of such drugs and it is justified despite the risks associated with combining both drugs.
