The described problem may be the result of long-term therapy with Metypred. Swelling of the face is one of the symptoms of Cushing's syndrome, i.e. an ailment that appears, m.in, in patients chronically treated with steroids. The decision on how the treatment should proceed must be made by the doctor. Unfortunately, in many situations it is impossible to avoid side effects, and the benefits of the treatment outweigh the possible risks associated with the presence of side effects. Do not stop taking Metypred on your own, as abrupt discontinuation of the drug poses a threat to the patient's health and life. Steroids are discontinued by gradually reducing the dose, under strict medical supervision.
