Redness and irritation of the skin are typical side effects of using Efudix cream.
According to the Summary of Product Characteristics, the application of Efudix to skin lesions usually results in erythema, then blisters, then exfoliation of the epidermis, erosion and healing (epidermal coverage). The onset of therapeutic effect of the drug occurs after 2-3 days of regular use. Efudix cream should be continued until erosion, at which point the medicinal product should be discontinued. It's hard to judge from such a short description and one photo.
In this situation, I encourage you to consult your doctor again. It is the doctor who decides on the possible treatment of the patient, m.in. on the basis of the patient's medical history and previous response to treatment.
