The decision to treat Clarelux with concomitant glaucoma is made by your doctor if the benefits outweigh the possible risk of eye side effects. The risk of eye pressure disorders increases with long-term treatments, so the duration of treatment may be of great importance in your case. Caution is indicated when using all steroids with concomitant glaucoma.
Information in the summary of product characteristics:
"Cataracts and glaucoma have been reported in patients who overapply topical strong corticosteroids for extended periods of time to the skin of the face and/or body. The increased pressure associated with topical corticosteroids, however, usually resolves when treatment is discontinued, but
Visual impairments caused by glaucoma and cataracts are irreversible. Clarelux should not be used on the eyelids.
Patients should wash their hands after each use to avoid contact with the eyes. However, if this happens, the eye should be rinsed repeatedly with water. Patients on long-term topical corticosteroid use should be monitored regularly for cataracts and glaucoma, which is particularly true for patients at risk of developing cataracts (e.g., diabetics, smokers) or glaucoma (e.g., a history of glaucoma or glaucoma in the patient's relatives)."

Clarelux foam should be applied directly to the scalp with the dispenser facing downwards. It is not recommended to apply the product to the hands and then to the head, due to the weaker effect of the drug and the risk of absorption of the substance outside the treatment area.
