In this situation, two ways of proceeding are acceptable:
1. You can stop taking the active tablets from your current pack and start taking placebo tablets (if any) or take a 7-day break. Then start the next pack.
2. You can take the last missed tablet as soon as you remember, even if it means taking 2 tablets at the same time. Then, continue taking the tablets at the usual time until you run out of active tablets. Skip the placebo tablets and start taking the tablets from the next pack straight away.
Withdrawal bleeding is not likely to occur until you stop taking the active tablets in the second pack, but you may experience spotting or mid-cycle bleeding on the days you take the tablets.
If no withdrawal bleeding occurs during the first scheduled period of placebo tablets, the possibility of pregnancy should be considered and a pregnancy test should be performed. Ultra-sensitive pregnancy tests include m.in:
