Whether Spironol Can it be used on an ad hoc basis?
9.99 zł

I didn't fully understand the doctor. He prescribed me 3 high blood pressure medications to take in the morning and additionally prescribed another medication called Spironol 50 mg, which I should turn on in case my blood pressure is still elevated. However, I didn't understand whether to turn it on permanently or take it only in case of increased blood pressure. Hence my question whether Spironol 50 mg can be taken on an ad hoc basis

Spironolactone (the active ingredient in Spironol) is a diuretic that is often used to treat high blood pressure, oedema caused by heart failure, nephrotic syndrome, and prostatic hyperplasia. However, it is not usually used on an ad hoc basis, as it works by regularly lowering blood pressure and removing excess fluids from the body.

To the best of my knowledge, Spironol should be used for a longer period of time when you do not notice any improvement in blood pressure after 2 medications. However, if you have any doubts about the use of the preparation - I encourage you to consult your doctor or teleconsult with a specialist:
