Izotek should be used as directed by a physician and individual doses are selected for each patient during treatment.
The recommended dosage according to the Summary of Product Characteristics for adults is:
'Treatment with isotretinoin should be initiated at a dose of 0.5 mg/kg body weight (bw) per day. Response to isotretinoin treatment and some adverse events are dose dependent and vary from patient to patient. Therefore, the dose of the drug must be adjusted individually during therapy. For most patients, the appropriate dose is between 0.5 mg/kg and 1 mg/kg/day."
