Can I use Brintellix sublingually?

Hello! I have malabsorption syndrome. Almost all medications are taken sublingually or on an empty stomach.
Can Brintellix be dissolved under the tongue? Will the drug work in this way, or does it only work in the intestines? I don't even have time to swallow a dose as it melts

Brintellix should be swallowed with a glass of water. These tablets are not intended for sublingual use. Do not bite or chew.

In order to use the preparation optimally, I encourage you to prepare a glass of water and immediately drink the tablet after putting it in your mouth. The drug can be used on an empty stomach.

On the other hand, in the case of absorption, the summary of product characteristics only states that the preparation is absorbed well, but slowly. The maximum concentration of the preparation in the blood is reached after 7-11 hours. Non-compliant use may have an impact on the efficacy and safety of the therapy, for example.

If you have any difficulties with the correct use of the drug, I encourage you to consult your doctor again. You can also take advantage of teleconsultation, e.g. via the Gdziepolek.pl portal:
