What should I do if I have given my child too much Augmentin?

What should I do if I gave my child the wrong dose of antibiotic Augmentin 14ml? Should I give the next dose within 12 hours, because it should be 7 ml? Is it already the next day 2 times 7 ml?

A single double dose of an antibiotic does not pose a threat to health and life. On the other hand, there is an increased chance that gastrointestinal disorders may occur, m.in. vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain.

Keep an eye on your child and ensure an increased supply of water (at least 2 litres of water/day).

The next dose should be given after 12 hours in the case of antibiotics and it is very important to keep the concentration of the drug in the blood at a constant level that has a specific therapeutic effect.

If you are concerned about this situation, it is always advisable to consult a doctor who can give you more personalized advice. If you do not have the opportunity to take advantage of the advice, I am attaching a link to the online teleconsultation:
