Treatment of an endometrial polyp depends on the nature of the lesion. In the case of very small polyps, the doctor may only recommend observation – there is a chance that the polyp will peel off during menstruation, although hormone therapy is usually introduced to reduce the size of the lesion or even make it disappear.

More invasive treatment of uterine polyps should be introduced when their growth causes health problems, e.g. fertility, as well as when the polyp shows signs of a malignant tumor.

If the developing cervical polyp is benign, it can be removed by curettage (abrasion), ablation (twisting) or surgical hysteroscopy. In the case of cancer cells, it is necessary to surgically remove these lesions using the classic or laparoscopic method, and in some cases even the entire uterus (hysterectomy).

Each case should be considered on a case-by-case basis. The presence of polyps is an indication for gynaecological consultation.

On the basis of your test results, the doctor will be able to assess the condition of the mucous membrane and choose the optimal method of treatment.
