My rheumatologist after many biologics finally prescribed me Rinvoq 15mg. I have warnings and carries risk of heart attack, weight gain etc. how reliable are these side effects ?

Hello, I've been taking rinvoq for 7 months, I started with a dose of 45mg, the side effects I experienced were acne, rash and weight gain. Best regards

Rinvoq, like all medicines, can cause side effects, but not everybody gets them.
According to the manufacturer: "Patients with rheumatoid arthritis have an increased risk of cardiovascular disorders. Risk factors (e.g., hypertension, hyperlipidaemia) should be monitored in patients treated with upadacitinib in accordance with baseline health care standards."
Therefore, you should remain under the supervision of a doctor (make regular check-ups) and perform tests recommended by a specialist.
Weight gain is one of the common side effects of this drug. To minimize the risk of weight gain, it is worth following a healthy, varied diet and taking care of regular (as far as possible) physical activity.
