To @Sarahelena:
Doxylamine does not cause anxiety. On the other hand, it has a calming effect - which can reduce anxiety. However, it is not an anxiolytic.
"Doxylamine has significant hypnotic and sedative effects, as well as
anticholinergic and antiemetic. Doxylamine crosses the blood-brain barrier and acts on central H1 receptors, thereby producing a sedative effect."
Could these anxiety be affected by the doxylamine I'm taking?

These symptoms may accompany quitting smoking.
It may be worth going to your GP who, based on your medical history, may decide to take a mild anti-anxiety medication for a short period of time to calm the symptoms associated with quitting smoking. These are prescription medications, so you will need to consult your doctor.
It is not worth giving up therapy if you have already made up your mind that you want to quit smoking. On the other hand, it is worth applying supportive treatment during the greatest crisis.
