Bell's palsy is idiopathic, i.e. it is usually not possible to determine the exact cause. Bell's palsy is the result of inflammation of the facial nerve. There are several concepts, what can cause facial neuritis. It is assumed that inflammation may have a viral background. Viruses that can cause facial neuritis include herpes simplex virus (HSV), the same virus that causes both cold sores and genital herpes, as well as other viruses including varicella-zoster virus, cytomegalovirus and Epstein-Barr virus. In Poland, Lyme disease is often responsible for Bell's palsy.
To sum up, the use of Dentosept A should not cause Bell's palsy.
