Plaquenil is a drug indicated for the treatment of uncomplicated malaria, rheumatoid arthritis, discoid and systemic lupus erythematosus, and photodermatoses.
Adverse reactions such as psychiatric disorders have been reported with the use of the preparation. Reported symptoms include emotional instability, nervousness, drowsiness, suicidal behavior, psychosis, depression, hallucinations, anxiety, agitation, confusion, delusions, mania, and sleep disturbances. Side effects of medications may or may not occur.
