I have been prescribed by my doctor for 500 mg of calcium per day. Should I consider calcium carbonate (or citrate) or calcium ions?

I have been prescribed by my doctor for 500 mg of calcium per day. I have a dilemma, because on the packaging of a drug/supplement there is, for example, "1000 mg of calcium carbonate, including 400 mg of calcium ions". On another package: "500 mg of calcium carbonate incl. 200 mg calcium ions." Which of the above will meet your doctor's dosage recommendations?
I don't really know whether to quantitatively take calcium carbonate (or citrate) or calcium ions?

In the case of calcium supplements, the amount of calcium ions is more important than the overall amount of calcium carbonate in the supplement. Calcium ion is the form in which calcium is absorbed by the body. Therefore, the doctor's recommendation is probably for the amount of calcium ions.

If your doctor has recommended 500 mg of calcium per day, then by looking at the information on the packaging, you should check how many calcium ions are contained in a given dose. For the first pack, one tablet contains 400 mg of calcium ions, which is the closest thing your doctor can recommend.

You can find 500mg of calcium in 2 capsules of Pueria Pure Calcium:
