Good morning, when replacing the kyleena IUD it turned out that it had to be done in the hospital. The doctor unpacked the new IUD The date of admission to the ward was set in two months. Can an unpacked system wait that long to be put on? Will it be effective? No.it was taken out of the box, however, the packaging is torn.

According to the Summary of Product Characteristics, Kyleena is supplied in a sterile package, if the seal of the sterile envelope is tampered with, the product should not be used. If only the outer carton has been opened and not the sterile packaging in which the liner is contained, it is suitable for use.
