In my opinion, it's not entirely safe. Although tobacco does not have a negative effect on the contraceptive pill, smoking tobacco while taking medication can have other very serious consequences. Especially after the age of 35, there is a higher risk of thromboembolic complications. This is because the combined pill can upset the balance of the blood clotting system. You should be aware that blood clots or blockages can lead to heart attacks and strokes. It is worth knowing that smoking cigarettes also promotes thromboembolic complications, so combining cigarettes and contraception poses a high risk to health and life. The World Health Organization and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommend that women over the age of 35 who smoke more than 15 cigarettes a day should stop using oral contraception altogether.
