Good morning, after ketotifen at a dose of half a tablet of 2.5 mg taken for about 1.5 years for dermographic urticaria, tinnitus (squealing, ringing) may occur. There was also tinnitus while taking the drug. The drug was discontinued about 4 weeks ago. Despite withdrawal, they persist. Previously, there were attempts to treat with other antihistamines, ketotifen worked best. Currently, acute symptoms of urticaria do not occur.

According to the Summary of Product Characteristics of Ketotifen, tinnitus is not one of the adverse reactions that occurred during the use of the preparation. However, this does not mean that the medicine could not have caused this symptom in your case. In order to determine the specific cause of tinnitus and choose the right treatment, it is necessary to consult a doctor and make appropriate diagnostics.
