I am 7 weeks pregnant. The gynecologist prescribed Hasco folic acid 5 mg to take twice a day. Isn't that too high?

Information in the package leaflet regarding the dosage of Acidum Folicum Hasco in pregnant women:
'During pregnancy and pre-pregnancy in women at increased risk of neural tube defects in their offspring:
5 mg daily for one month prior to planned pregnancy, continuing administration during the first trimester of pregnancy."
Your doctor may recommend a different dosage based on your own experience and analysis of your health, so you should discuss any concerns about taking folic acid with your doctor.
