Yes, this is completely normal in the first month after the coil is inserted. The Levosert coil is an effective and reversible method of contraception that can cause various types of changes in menstruation, such as: spotting, shorter or longer bleeding, little or heavy bleeding or no bleeding at all.
According to the Summary of Product Characteristics: "Many women experience frequent spotting or minor bleeding in addition to menstrual bleeding for the first 3 to 6 months after insertion of Levosert. For some women, menstrual bleeding may get worse or last longer than usual. Tell your doctor, especially if these symptoms persist. In general, it is possible to gradually reduce the number of days of bleeding and the amount of blood lost each month. Some women may eventually stop their periods altogether."
