If you have extended the standard 7-day interval between packs of birth control pills, your contraceptive protection may have been reduced. According to the recommendations of the manufacturers of contraceptive pills, the interval between packs should be 7 days, not more.
In this situation, it is recommended to use additional contraceptive methods, such as condoms, for the first 7 days after starting a new pack of contraceptive pills. If you have had intercourse in the 7 days preceding the extension, the risk of pregnancy should be taken into account.
