DMAE is an amino alcohol that is normally found in small amounts in the brain. It is probably necessary for the production of acetylcholine, a neurotransmitter involved, m.in, in the transmission of nerve signals. DMAE is naturally found, m.in, in salmon, sardines and anchovies. According to the literature, DMAE supplementation is safe and no effect on other drugs has been observed.
