Acard, also known as acetylsalicylic acid, is often used in the prevention of cardiovascular disease because it has antiplatelet properties, i.e. it inhibits blood clotting. It is often used in people with a high risk of cardiovascular disease, such as heart attack or stroke.
If you have hypercholesterolaemia (high levels of cholesterol in your blood), your doctor may prescribe lipid-lowering medicines such as statins, fibrates, or other medicines that help regulate blood lipid levels.
In many cases, if there is a concomitant risk of cardiovascular disease and hypercholesterolemia, your doctor may recommend the concomitant use of an antiplatelet drug (such as Acard) and a hypolipemic drug.
