If I left the contraceptive pill in its original box, in my purse, but there was an open window with the pills next to it, and it was cold and damp outside, could they be damaged and therefore not effective?

If the tablets have not been directly exposed to moisture and cold and have been stored by the window in their original packaging and in their handbag for a short period of time, their contraceptive effectiveness has not been affected. The original packaging and the bag additionally reduce the risk of external factors affecting their structure. I also suspect that the eventual opening of the window (and thus the time of exposure to low temperatures) was short-lived.
However, do not store the tablets without the box (or outside the blister) in areas exposed to moisture and cold. Long-term exposure of the tablets to adverse external conditions may affect their effectiveness.
