A slight low-grade fever may be due to the presence of inflammation in the genital tract. The decision on whether to remove the spiral should be made by the gynaecologist if he or she considers it necessary during the examination. It is worth remembering that for the first few days after inserting the IUD, patients may experience pain that disappears spontaneously.
