Yasnal and Evertas can be used together if prescribed by a doctor who has been informed of all the preparations used.
Yasnal and Evertas are indicated for the symptomatic treatment of mild to intermediate Alzheimer's dementia. Both drugs inhibit the activity of cholinesterase, the enzyme responsible for breaking down acetylcholine. As a result, the breakdown of acetylcholine, which is involved, m.in, in the process of remembering, slows down. According to the Summary of Product Characteristics, the concomitant use of two medicinal products that inhibit chlinesterase activity is not recommended, but there is evidence available in the literature to support the use of rivastigmine (Evertas) and donepezil (Yasnal) in the treatment of Lewy body dementia. Therefore, it is important to know whether such a drug combination was ordered by a single doctor.
When Yasnal and Evertas are used concomitantly, side effects may be increased, which are similar in the same mechanism of action.
