The absorption of active substances from the contraceptive pill may be limited by activated charcoal, which may affect the effectiveness of contraception.
To avoid potential problems related to the interaction between activated charcoal and birth control pills, it is recommended to keep a time interval between taking them. Usually, doctors suggest waiting at least 2 hours before or after taking activated charcoal before using birth control pills.
