Good morning. I'm taking Amisoklav 850mg. There is no information in the leaflet about alcohol consumption, but on the internet there is information that the active substance of this medicine does not interact with alcohol. Are 2 glasses of wine acceptable during therapy? In addition, the doctor did not give me information on how long I should take this medication - I bought a pack of 20 tablets with a recommendation to take 2 a day.
Best regards.

Alcohol consumption should be refrained from during treatment with the antibiotic Amoksiklav. It should be borne in mind that alcohol may weaken the effect of the antibiotic, so the treatment may not be effective enough. Alcohol also increases the risk of gastrointestinal discomfort during antibiotic therapy.
According to the study, the most common side effects that occur when combining amoxicillin and alcohol are: "increased heart rate, changes in blood pressure, abdominal pain, vomiting, headache, liver damage."

If your doctor has not specified the duration of therapy, you should continue treatment until the end of the pack, i.e. for 10 days.
