Hi, I put on the Adaring vaginal system 3.5 hours too late from the planned time, does this break reduce the level of contraception? Would everything normalize after a week?

According to the package leaflet for Adaring:
"If the interval in the use of the vaginal therapeutic system has been longer than 7 days, a new system should be inserted as soon as possible. If you have sex during the next 7 days, you should use an additional method of contraception (e.g. a male condom).
If you have had intercourse during a break in the vaginal therapeutic system, there is a possibility of pregnancy. If this happens, you should contact your doctor as soon as possible. The longer the interval from the vaginal therapeutic system, the greater the likelihood of pregnancy."
A delay of 3.5 hours may affect the effectiveness of hormonal contraception. After 7 days of correctly used ring, contraceptive protection will be restored.
