Will a prescription with R S be free?
24.99 zł

Dad is 73 years old, now there is a reimbursement for medicines for 65+, I have R S next to the drug and R. (And I know that this drug is on the list of drugs and my dad has the appropriate disease entity)

Due to the way prescription software works, the document may show a fee (e.g. 50%, R) next to the medicine, even if the patient has a correctly entered additional entitlement (e.g. S - senior, DZ - child). This does not mean that the prescription will have to be paid.

I'll give you an example - on a prescription for a flu vaccine for a child properly issued by a family doctor, there is information that the payment is 50%, but the additional entitlement of the patient is "DZ". Such a prescription is filled free of charge, in accordance with the provisions of the program of free medicines for children and adolescents. On the other hand, people without additional qualifications can buy the drug with a 50% fee.

I understand that the prescription has not yet been filled, but you are worried about the amount of the possible surcharge. I would suggest verifying this doubt directly at the pharmacy - on the spot, professional staff having access to the document will easily check whether the drug will be free.
