Am I protected from the start of Microgynon?

Hey, this is the first time I've started taking birth control pills, Microgynon 21 to be exact. I started taking on the 1st day of menstruation, am I protected from the beginning of taking the pills?

Yes, you are already protected. It is best to start taking Microgynon tablets on day 1 of your natural menstrual cycle (i.e. on the first day of your menstrual period).

You can also start taking the pills on another day of your menstrual cycle. In this case, it is recommended to use an additional barrier contraception, i.e. a condom, for the first 7 days of taking the pills.
