Can Xarelto be free for seniors?

Xarelto can be a free drug for seniors, provided that it is used in one of the reimbursement indications.

Reimbursement indications for Xarelto include:
1. Treatment of deep vein thrombosis in people over 18 years of age; Prophylaxis of recurrence of deep vein thrombosis or pulmonary embolism - after acute deep vein thrombosis in people over 18 years of age 2. Treatment of pulmonary embolism and prevention of recurrent deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism in adults

If the drug is prescribed for one of the above indications, on a correctly marked prescription (with the "S" entitlement and with a discount), it will be dispensed free of charge at the pharmacy.

A drug used for other indications and on an incorrectly labeled prescription will be dispensed in accordance with the general rules for filling prescriptions.
