There are no contraindications to taking Pylera by a person allergic to penicillins and macrolides.

Pylera contains the antibiotic tetracycline, chemotherapeutic metronidazole and bismuth. These compounds are not chemically similar to penicillins and macrolides and are considered safe for allergies to these antibiotics.
However, to reduce the risk of side effects, sun exposure and alcohol consumption should be avoided while taking Pylera.
