Can flaxseed oil treatment harm if the patient takes Polocard?

Good morning. A patient taking Polocard 75 mg received linseed oil in the seller's offer in the herbalry. It is to be used to treat atherosclerotic abdominal and pulmonary aorta. The problem is that on the medonet website I read that linseed oil interacts with aspirin (in this case Polocard) and causes a tendency to bruise and bleed. Please let me know if the treatment with this oil can harm this patient? Best regards. Ewa Lesinska

Yes, it is true that taking flaxseed oil with medicines that reduce blood clotting (such as aspirin), may increase the risk of bleeding and bruising. However, please note that Aspirin is not the same as Polocard. Polocard contains a low dose of cardioprotective acetylsalicylic acid. It does not affect blood clotting to the same extent as Aspirin. Between the use of linseed oil and aspirin, it is enough to keep a few hours break (2-3 hours) to reduce the tendency to interaction. It is also important for the patient to regularly monitor his health during such therapy and immediately report any disturbing symptoms, such as excessive bleeding, bruising or other adverse reactions, to the doctor. If there is no possibility of a stationary visit, I encourage you to use teleadvice, e.g. via the portal Gdziepolek.pl: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/telekonsultacja Through the gdziepolek.pl website, you can check the availability of the above preparations and book them at the selected pharmacy: Polocard: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/produkty/63041/polocard-tabletki-powlekane/apteki Linseed oil: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/produkty/43037/lenvitol-olej-lniany-budwigowy-plyn/apteki
