Hello. For over two years I have been taking Romazic 20mg, and during this time I had itching on my face and head, after many consultations with a dermatologist there was no effect. And so my associations fell on the romazik I stopped and the itching went away I went to the doctor and changed to Ezehron 10mg and after a week the itching returns again. What connects these two medicines and is there any that would not sensitize?

Romazic contains rosuvastatin - a drug from the group of statins, which, as a result of inhibition of the enzyme involved in the synthesis of cholesterol (HMG-CoA), reduces the concentration of "bad" cholesterol (LDL) and triglycerides in the blood. In contrast, Ezehron contains ezetimibe, which reduces lipids by inhibiting the absorption of cholesterol from the intestines. These drugs have a different mechanism of action. According to the leaflets, both Romazic and Ezehron may cause an uncommon side effect (may affect up to 1 in 100 people) of pruritus. We wrote about how and why it is worth reporting side effects here: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/artykuly/jak-i-dlaczego-zglaszac-dzialania-niepozadane It is difficult to predict which drug will not cause side effects in you, because it is an individual matter for each patient.
