Hello, after intercourse during which the condom slipped into the vagina along with the semen, I took an escapelle tablet after 6 hours. The planned period was on the day on which the intercourse took place. After taking the tablet, the period is late. After 3 days after taking the tablet, there was "dirty", brown mucus, initially the symptoms were like with ordinary menstruation, lower abdominal pain. Should I be worried? Is there a high possibility of getting pregnant?

In the described case, the probability of pregnancy seems very small. First of all, the Escapelle tablet taken quickly enough effectively prevents an unplanned pregnancy, although this effectiveness is not 100%. You have 72 hours to take Escapelle, so in your case the medicine was taken within the time window. If you have been menstruating regularly so far and the cycle has always been more or less the same, then the day of the expected menstruation should be an infertile day. However, the calendar method itself can be unreliable, because there may be extremely long or extremely short cycles. Therefore, a tablet such as Escapelle can be taken at any time during the cycle. After using Escapelle, menstrual bleeding is usually normal and starts on the same day as usual, but sometimes it can occur a few days later or earlier. Perhaps the described dirtiness and abdominal pain are the beginning of standard bleeding. However, if something bothers you, it is best to contact your gynecologist directly.
