Good morning, for two years I have been taking Trittico 150mg once a day and 10mg nasen, I would like to stop these drugs and after consulting a doctor I got ketrel 25mg and I have to take 1/2 tablets for 3 weeks. I stopped it on Saturday and since Sunday I feel strange symptoms such as weakness, fearfulness and general malaise. That I have no problems sleeping. Could it be due to such a sudden discontinuation of trittico?

Yes, stopping Trittico abruptly may cause withdrawal symptoms. The information contained in the summary of product characteristics indicates that deterioration of well-being is less likely during gradual discontinuation. It is worth adding that Trittico is not an addictive drug, and the described symptoms result from the mechanism of action against specific neurotransmitters in the nervous system. "When discontinuing treatment with trazodone (Trittico), especially when used long-term, it is recommended to gradually reduce the dose until complete discontinuation of the drug to minimize the occurrence of withdrawal symptoms in the form of nausea, headache and malaise." In case of deterioration of health (or lack of improvement), a check with a psychiatrist is indicated. Symptoms should disappear after a few to several days.
