Can acyclovir be used without known herpes infection?
After contact with a person with herpes scab (kiss), can I take acyclovir tablets as a preventive treatment to avoid a more serious course? In the leaflet it is written that taking the drug must be preceded by the diagnosis of herpes.

As you wrote, acyclovir is not used in people who have not been diagnosed with herpes labial infection. Taking acyclovir without a previously diagnosed infection is not recommended and does not benefit.
