Can Biseptol cause blood thinning and heavy menstrual bleeding?
Good morning For 2 days I take Biseptol 960 for a sore throat and ear. I got my period today and the bleeding is heavy and the blood seems to be thinned. Is it possible for Biseptol to act like salicylates or Heparin? The last time I had such a period with heavy bleeding was after taking Clexane injections 4 years ago. Is it possible for Biseptol to reduce blood clotting?

Blood clotting disorders have been described as a very rare side effect of Biseptol. The drug does not act like salicylates or heparin, it is not an anticoagulant. Changes in the profile of menstrual bleeding during antibiotic therapy may occur, the situation should normalize in the next cycle. The observed side effect should be reported to the doctor, who will decide on further action.
