I need advice whether it is possible to use Protopic 0.1 ointment on the cheek to form swelling in this place or very close under the eye? On the ultrasound nothing can be seen only swelling. After stopping the use of the ointment, is there a possibility that the swelling will go away on its own? I would add that I use this ointment intermittently, but for several months. The swelling persists for 4 months, without interruption it has occurred before, but also went down.

As a pharmacist, I can only provide general information about the drug, but I am not able to diagnose or replace medical advice. In case of swelling or other disturbing symptoms, it is always recommended to consult a doctor. Protopic is a medicine from the group of calcineurin inhibitors, mainly used to treat atopic dermatitis. Protopic 0.1% ointment is applied to the skin to relieve symptoms such as itching, redness and swelling associated with this condition. Swelling may also occur as an adverse reaction with Protopic, although this is not a common side effect. If you suspect that the swelling may be caused by the use of Protopic ointment, please consult your doctor and do not stop the treatment on your own. If you are unable to get to your doctor, the GdziePoLek.pl service also allows you to obtain a teleconsultation with a doctor: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/telekonsultacja I encourage you to report an adverse reaction if you have not already done so: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/artykuly/jak-i-dlaczego-zglaszac-dzialania-niepozadane The GdziePoLek.pl service also allows you to book Protopic in a selected stationary pharmacy and collect it upon presentation of the prescription: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/produkty/64891/protopic-masc/apteki?pvid=88277#internetowe
