Wait 5-10 seconds before removing the needle to prevent the insulin from flowing out. This should be borne in mind, as a smaller than planned amount of subcutaneous insulin may result in poorer glycaemic control. Sometimes after insulin administration, there is a slight bleeding or bruising at the injection site. This is not a cause for concern, as it happens in most patients.
