Can anxiety attacks occur after 10 days of using Lexapro?

Hello, I have been taking Lexapro for 9 days at a dose of 0.5 mg, after 10 days I increased the dose to 10 mg, as I started taking the drug there was nothing like that some light side effects, but after 9 days I got such anxiety attacks worse than before the medicine, is it possible that the side effects of the drug occurred only after so many days? Does this drug not work?

At the beginning of treatment with Lexapro (first 2-3 weeks), some patients may experience increased anxiety, which should gradually pass during treatment. If the disorders are very severe, you can report it to your doctor, who can advise you on how to deal with them or recommend additional use of anxiolytics in the first period of therapy. I encourage you to report side effects - this allows you to gather more information about the safety of medicines and update data about them, which may help other patients in the future. We wrote about how to report them here: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/artykuly/jak-i-dlaczego-zglaszac-dzialania-niepozadane Side effects of drugs can also be reported individually: https://www.urpl.gov.pl/pl/produkty-lecznicze/monitorowanie-bezpieczeństwa-leków/zg elk-side-effect-0
