After long-term treatment with methylprednisolone (Metypred), therapy should not be stopped overnight. The generally recommended schedule involves reducing the dose by 2 mg every 2 – 3 days, in the last week taking 2 mg of methylprednisolone every other day. It should be emphasized, however, that the dose reduction schedule should be determined individually by the doctor conducting the current therapy depending on the length of taking the drug and the general condition of the patient. During dose reduction, the patient should remain under medical supervision.
