Good morning I have chronic gastritis and exacerbation that does not go away for a very long time, including probably due to neurosis, so the doctor prescribed me acertin, which I have been taking for more than 2 weeks, I read that this drug can make the situation with the stomach even worse and it scares me, I wonder how dangerous it is to take acertin with gastritis? Will acertin cease to have a negative effect on the stomach after the adaptation period or can it be so during the entire treatment?

If you mean Asertin, a drug with sertraline, please read on. Serious gastrointestinal problems after Asertin are rare. Usually, if gastrointestinal disorders are caused by neurosis, then they ease or disappear completely after starting treatment with Asertin. Usually, the first effects of therapy are noticeable after about 2 weeks of regular use of the drug. Therefore, please follow the doctor's instructions and observe the body's reaction. If anything worries you, the observed side effects should be reported to your doctor.
