What to use if I was bitten by a cattle gadfly?
Hello. The day before yesterday I was bitten by a cattle gadfly. I used hydrocortisol and washed with octanisept. Today a yellow bump appeared on the bitten calf, from which pus oozes. I feel pressure and pain in my leg. Do you use something else or go to the doctor?

Cattle gem It does not bite because it is not possible. You probably confused it with a fart. It is a dangerous creature that can bring germs of infectious diseases, such as anthrax, tularemia, borers and nematodes. After the prick, an itchy swelling ("wheal") usually remains. You should see a dermatologist.

Unfortunately, the ailments after the bite of the goose can last for several days. In the picture I see more a bladder with serous content than purulent, which is a characteristic reaction to inflammation within irritated skin. Octenisept can still be used as a disinfectant. If the itching/pain is bothersome, oral allergy agents (e.g. Zyrtec, Lirra, Loratadine) and an antihistamine spreader (e.g. Fenistil) may be taken. In case of worsening of symptoms - a sensation of shortness of breath, increased temperature or increasing swelling - you should urgently contact a doctor (and preferably - an ambulance).
