Is a negative pregnancy test taken 2 days after the date of menstruation reliable?

Is a negative pregnancy test taken 2 days after the date of menstruation reliable? If I still don't have my period (7 days), should I do a second test? With each intercourse I protected myself and there were no problems with condoms, 2 days from the date when I should have menstruation I did a test and it came out negative, but a week passed and I still did not get my period

Do@anonim:

Given the circumstances and test results, the likelihood of pregnancy is very low.

The intercourse took place on the penultimate day of the period, which is usually a period of low fertility. In addition, the ejaculation took place outside the partner's body, which significantly reduces the risk of conception.

Pregnancy tests performed 14 days after intercourse are considered reliable. Tests with a sensitivity of 10 mIU/ml and 25 mIU/ml are able to detect pregnancy as early as about 10-14 days after conception. The fact that both tests gave negative results is a strong indication that the pregnancy did not occur.

Hello, my partner and I had intercourse on the last day of our period without protection, but the ejaculation occurred outside of my partner. On the 14th day after the intercourse, 2 tests were performed, one 10 mlU/ml and the other 25 mlU/ml, both came out negative, can these results be considered reliable, is there any chance that something can change?

To @Justka @:

Yes, a pregnancy test taken 12 days after a late period is very reliable, especially if a high-sensitivity test was used.

A test with a sensitivity of 10 mIU/ml is able to detect even small amounts of this hormone. Taking the test in the morning with the first urine in the morning further increases its credibility, because this is when the concentration of the hCG hormone is the highest.

However, if you have doubts or the test came out negative, and you still suspect pregnancy, it is worth considering taking a blood test for beta-hCG levels, which is the most precise.

To @Justa:
About 10 days after intercourse, the results of morning urine tests will be reliable and negative allow you to rule out pregnancy.

Hello, I did pregnancy tests, the urine came out negative. One test taken on day 5 after a late period with a sensitivity of 10 ml/ml, another on day 6 with a sensitivity of 25 ml/ml and a third on day 9 with a sensitivity of 20 ml/ml. Are these tests reliable? Can he do an additional blood test?

One test with a sensitivity of 10ulm, the other 20 ulm. The intercourse was exactly 14 days ago. Can he repeat the test in a few days?

To @Justa42:

Depending on the pregnancy test used, a reliable result can be obtained as early as 10-14 days after intercourse. If the test was performed after this time, the result can be considered reliable. The most reliable result is obtained when the test is performed on or after the day of the expected menstrual period. However, in the case of irregular cycles, it is difficult to determine the time of ovulation.

It is worth discussing the issue of irregular menstruation with a gynaecologist, who will help you determine their cause based on full information about your health. They can be the result of stress or intense physical exertion or the use of certain medications, menstrual disorders can also accompany some diseases. If your cycles are regular, a pregnancy test performed on the date of the expected menstruation, or even a few days later, should detect pregnancy if it happened. Properly used condoms that have not broken and slipped are an effective method of preventing pregnancy. If a woman has had normal and regular cycles so far, and menstruation is delayed by 7-14 days, it is advisable to contact a gynecologist to carry out diagnostics and determine the cause. You can repeat the test before such a visit, because the gynecologist will certainly ask if and when it was performed - in such a situation, having a "fresh" result can be helpful. Repeating the test will also be advisable if you menstruate irregularly - in this case, the test is best done about 14 days after intercourse.
