I am currently on saxenda dose 1.8. I want to switch to rebelsus? From what dose should I start ribelsus and how to dose it? Should you take a break between saxenda and rebelsus?

The Summary of Product Characteristics of Saxenda and Rybelsus does not provide guidelines for switching from one medicine to another. However, the recommendations of the American Diabetes Association (ADA) and the European Association for the Study of Diabetes (EASD) may help to answer the question that if you switch from liraglutide once a day (Saxenda) to semaglutide oral also once a day (Rybelsus), the first dose of Rybelsus is given the day after the last dose doses of Saxenda. If the lesion is not due to gastrointestinal disorders, treatment is started with an equivalent (14 mg) or lower (7 mg) dose of Ribelsus administered once daily. If the change is dictated by gastrointestinal side effects, it is recommended to wait until the symptoms have resolved and then rest Rybelsus from the lowest dose (3 mg). A slower dose increase and the possibility of a maintenance dose lower than the maximum (14 mg) should be considered.
