Hello. On Wednesday evening I was given the antibiotic Duracef 500 for strep throat. Today, ie Sunday, I had to go to the emergency because there was no improvement and even the throat hurt even more as if I had needles there, I began to choke with a cough. I was given thiocodin and levofloxacin as a new antibiotic. But nowhere does he write that this antibiotic is for angina or pharyngitis. Will he help me?

Levofloxacin is an antibiotic from the group of fluoroquinolones, which is widely used to treat various bacterial infections, including pharyngitis and strep throat. It is effective in fighting many types of bacteria that can cause respiratory infections. The decision to prescribe Levofloxacin and Thiocodin was made by a doctor who, based on your test results and physical examination, assessed the best therapeutic option. Please remember that the doctor is best equipped to assess your individual medical situation and adapt the treatment to your current condition. In case of doubt, I encourage you to consult your doctor again. Only a doctor can decide on a possible change in pharmacotherapy. If you are unable to get to your primary care doctor, the GdziePoLek.pl service also allows you to obtain a teleconsultation with a doctor: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/telekonsultacja I enclose a link to a page where you can check the availability of Levofloxacin in pharmacies in Poland and book the drug in the selected pharmacy: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/produkty/87074/levofloxacin-genoptim-tabletki-powlekane/apteki?pvid=209180
