Quetaplex XR contains quetiapine - an antipsychotic drug that has an affinity for serotonin receptors (5HT2) and dopamine D1 and D2 receptors in the brain. It is a medicine indicated for schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. The preparation can be used in episodes of mania, which is manifested by strong podeskitation, agitation, excessive activity. This drug does not belong to benzodiazepines - a group of drugs with anxiolytic, sedative, hypnotic and anticonvulsant effects.
