Good morning. I took Movalis 15mg oral. Now the doctor prescribed me Aglan in the form of injections. In both medicines, the active substance is meloxicam. If I have not had any noticeable side effects or allergies after taking oral meloxicam, can I safely inject the same active substance?

The active substance in both medicines is meloxicam, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that is used to treat pain and inflammation. Allergy to meloxicam or other NSAIDs can occur both with oral and intravenous administration, but not always. Allergy to medications is individual and may vary from person to person. This means that if you are not allergic to oral meloxicam, this does not necessarily mean that you will not be allergic to intravenous administration. There is still a possibility that intravenous administration may cause an allergic reaction. Please remain under medical supervision throughout the use of the preparation. I encourage you to familiarize yourself with the availability of the preparation in stationary pharmacies in Polish: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/produkty/2783/aglan-iniekcja/apteki At the following link you can make an appointment for a teleconsultation: https://www.gdziepolek.pl/telekonsultacja
